Happy New Year
Wow, how time flies! It seems that 2010 just started, and now we are at the end. When reflecting back on the year, we all have our ups and downs; good and bad; and things we may have done different. There is hope though, as we get a fresh start with 2011. Let me be the first to wish you good tidings and a happy new year, as we begin the journey together.
Being one of our favorite things to do, and yet one of the hardest, we here at Classic Cigar have put together our 2010 Top 10 cigars of the year. Just as in the past, the cigars on the list may not have been reviewed on the website but were smoked, numerous times, throughout the year. There are however, three cigars on the list that we did review. You may access those reviews by searching the Classic Cigar website. So without further ado, here are the Classic Cigar Top 10 cigars of the year!
10. Rocky Patel Cuban Blend Toro Maduro (Honduras)
9. NUB Maduro 460 (Nicaragua)
8. CAO La Traviata Animado (Nicaragua)
7. Xikar HC Series Habano Colorado Toro (Nicaragua)
6. E.P. Carillo Edition Inaugural 2009 Encore (Dominican Republic)
5. Illusione MK (Nicaragua)
4. Cohiba Lancero (Cuba)
3. Romeo e Julieta Short Churchill (Cuba)
2. Davidoff Grand Cru No.1 (Dominican Republic)
and the #1 cigar of 2010 is…
1. Punch Churchill (Cuba) Box Code: ZTV NOV 05
The Punch Churchill has LOADS of flavor and character. This cigar had very sweet honey notes with a touch of heat/spice coming through. Also, notes of fresh bread & dough gave way to luminous tea flavors. The ash was a wonderful grey tower and the aroma was lush and sweet, almost like a fine cologne. It’s just too bad Habanos S.A. took this cigar out of their profile this year. That’s right…as of 2010 no more Punch Churchills will be produced. So, my advice is stock up while you can.
Well, that about does it for us here at Classic Cigar. We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year, as we bring in 2011.
