Well I hope the year 2009 has bid you lots of love, wealth, friendship, and cigars. I know my year has been very blessed, especially with the birth of my first son. If the year has brought you hardships and frustration the good news is the end is here and a new start begins soon. With a world economic downfall, jobless rates up, and “global warming” (what a joke) all on the plate this year, it was harder than normal just let go and relax, however no better way than with a great cigar!
I had the opportunity to smoke lots of wonderful cigars this past year and believe me it is really tough narrowing it down to 10. Out of the 10 chosen for this year I only reviewed one here at Classic Cigar however I highly recommend all 10 on the list, so without further ado, I present the Classic Cigar 2009 Top 10 Cigars:
10. Illusione 88 (Nicaragua)
9. Tatuaje Havana VI Almirantes (Nicaragua)
8. Savinelli Special Selection 2005 Torpedo (Nicaragua)
7. Oliva Serie V Torpedo (Nicaragua)
6. Montecristo No.2 (Cuba)
5. Por Larranaga Belicoso Extra Asia Pacifico Regional Release (Cuba)
4. Rocky Patel Decade Torpedo (Honduras)
3. Cohiba Robusto (Cuba)
2. Padron Serie 1926 No.2 Maduro (Nicaragua)
and for the #1 cigar of 2009.…..
1. Juan Lopez Selection No.2 (Cuba) Box Code: SMG ABR 08
This is an absolutely marvelous cigar with loads of complexity and flavor not to mention an incredible draw with a melting aroma. If you get the opportunity to try the Juan Lopez Selection No.2, I am confident you will NOT be disappointed.
Well that is it for us here at Classic Cigar. We hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a most wonderful 2010! Thank you to all the readers and smokers out there who still believe in the relaxing art of……smoking! Stay posted for the first 2010 cigar reviews and until then.
